About the role South West Healthcare (SWH) has an Acting Manager of Education and Development position open for a full-time, fixed-term 12-month contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the People and Culture team and coordinate the ongoing annual Training and Education development program for the Service.
Position overview The role is responsible for providing leadership across SWH, in establishing and progressing strategic education and workforce development priorities in collaboration with key stakeholders and maintaining high standards of delivery that enable the development of a skilled, patient-centred workforce.
The post holder will oversee the effective and integrated creation, development, and maintenance of services, policies, procedures, and resources to support best practice learning and development, working collaboratively with and leading intra-directorate education staff, to promote and facilitate an organisational culture of learning.
What you bring You will have the ability to assess the organisational staff development needs by conceptualising, developing, and implementing programs and/or strategies to meet identified needs, now and into the future.
You will be able to incorporate the principles of adult education and learning theory and practice in the development and coordinated delivery of best practice workforce development programs.
As well as the above, you will need to have formal tertiary qualifications, specifically in Education, Human Resources, Business Management, or a related discipline, along with a Certificate IV or equivalent in Workplace Training & Assessment.
This role works within a tight-knit team and will need to have highly developed management and interpersonal skills, be a team player while leading an intra-directorate multidisciplinary team.
You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work within established priorities, set realistic goals and timelines, regularly communicate with stakeholders, and deliver quality outcomes within budget.
