About you As our Advocacy Communications Specialist , you'll be charged with helping to develop and promote the RACGP's advocacy goals.
The successful candidate should have a positive, can-do attitude, as well as the ability to proactively work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on finding solutions.
You should also have strong news sense and be skilled at prioritising workloads to meet deadlines.
To thrive in this role, you'll have: Relevant Degree/Tertiary education in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations (or equivalent) Strong Excel skills, with data analysis using data sets from multiple systems Experience developing or enhancing management reporting Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
About the opportunity Reporting to the Head of Member and External Communications , you'll collaborate with the Advocacy Communications Manager to enhance the RACGP's advocacy communication and media efforts, focusing on developing, managing, delivering, and reporting on strategies and plans that align with advocacy and strategic priorities.
In addition, you'll: Ensure advocacy communications align with RACGP's strategic priorities by collaborating with Advocacy Policy, Member Experience, and Communications teams Assist the Media Team with inquiries, including out-of-hours support Partner with Advocacy staff and the Advocacy Communications Manager to execute advocacy media and communications Identify advocacy issues and opportunities in the media and political landscape Build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including health groups and media Promote member communications to raise awareness of the RACGP's advocacy impact and achievements, in line with the Operating Plan and Member Census findings.
