The role: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the overall financial health of the organisation, ensuring that financial strategies align with the company's goals. The CFO will lead and develop all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management, and will play a key role in strategic planning and decision-making. The CFO role will require you to be both 'hands on', in the detail as well as stepping up and being the strategic business partner to the Executive team and CEO. Reporting directly to the CEO, a key member of the Executive team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategies in this exciting growing business. Key responsibilities: Financial Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation's business objectives. Provide leadership to the finance team and ensure alignment with the company's goals. Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis. Monitor financial performance and provide insights to the executive team on key metrics. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements. Present financial reports to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders. Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks to safeguard the organisation's assets. Implement effective internal controls and compliance measures. Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash management and liquidity to ensure the company can meet its obligations. Optimise working capital and investment strategies. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with executive leadership to define and implement the strategic direction of the company. Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, and other growth opportunities. Stakeholder Relations: Build relationships with banks, investors, and other financial partners. Communicate financial performance and strategy to stakeholders effectively. Team Development: Mentor and develop finance staff to grow their skills and capabilities. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team. About you: CA or CPA qualifications are essential. Proven experience in developing and implementing financial strategies. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team. Experience in risk management initiatives. Knowledge of IT systems that improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly. Proven track record in a senior Finance leadership role, preferably in the healthcare or insurance sector. Ability to maintain relationships with various stakeholders to achieve business goals.
