About the role Western District Health Service (WDHS) seeks a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to lead the establishment and management of a new, pivotal unit - The Clinical Access and Resource Unit (CARU).
The CARU Operations Manager will have the unique opportunity to shape this innovative unit from the ground up, playing a critical role in optimising patient access, streamlining resource management, and enhancing care transitions across acute, subacute, and aged care settings.
This position offers a chance to lead transformative change within WDHS, setting new standards for efficiency and quality in healthcare service delivery.
The successful candidate will be at the forefront of creating a cohesive and integrated approach to bed management, staffing, and resource allocation.
This position will be responsible for the management and recruitment of team members to support the core functions of the Clinical Access and Resource Unit.
You will bring Current registered nurse with AHPRA registration Extensive Clinical knowledge, skills and experience in a health setting Highly developed interpersonal skills including conflict resolution strategies Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team Excellent organisational and time management skills Demonstrated management experience including staff management Bachelor of Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare management, with a focus on bed management, resource coordination, and staff recruitment Demonstrated leadership experience, particularly in change management and process improvement Experience managing access and flow in a health care setting Good knowledge of Human Resource best practices Well-developed assessment, problem solving and organisational skills Demonstrated knowledge of relevant award and industrial agreements Benefits of working with us • Internal training and development to support professional and personal growth.• External professional development funding support after 12 months.• Enterprise Bargaining Agreement based remuneration.• Salary packaging including capped expenses ($9,010), meals ($2,650), novated vehicle leasing.• Free on-site car parking.• Social club membership offering a range of events, functions and local community discounts.• A culture which supports staff health and wellbeing.• Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
