About the Role Reporting to the Project Development Operational Technology Lead, this is a pivotal development and support role within the Operational Technology Team.
As the Control Systems & Asset Manager, Project Development, you will be a technical expert, provide technical direction in control systems, and be responsible for: Development of renewal projects plans to protect Melbourne Water against outages, breakdowns and ensure business continuity, and then support the delivery of these projects as a SME.
Working collaboratively with Team Leaders, Asset Management Principals and asset management interfaces leads across Melbourne Water to ensure effective end-to-end plan development, prioritization and delivery of programs.
Applying subject matter expertise, advising external and internal stakeholders how to interpret Melbourne Water Operational Technology standards, then support the delivery of projects across the business with OT content.
Provide knowledge and support on Operation Technology systems in the event of an incident, support other business areas and service providers in day to day operation, and support the implementation and delivery of maintenance activities.
Analysis of Operational technology systems and performance and provide sound advice and direction for solutions using a risk based approach.
Fundamentally our team provides and oversees the industrial control systems and services to all operational facilities.
This is to ensure Melbournians have access to clean water and a fully functioning sewerage facility 24/7.
We ensure the continuity of this service.
Our successful candidate will be a technical expert and will have substantial knowledge of and experience with industrial control systems such as SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, OT Networks, CCTV and BACID including their development coding and testing.

You will be well experienced in whole of life asset management and risk assessment techniques related to large scale infrastructure management.
You will have experience in the design development and/or maintenance of complex electrical, automation and instrumentation systems.
You will be adept at developing maintenance regimes and renewal plans that will contribute to investment programs to meet Melbourne Water's expanding service objectives.
You will be able to work independently and provide technical solutions and options in a continuously changing environment.
You will have excellent communication skills with both internal and external Melbourne Water nominated service providers.
You will have the maturity to drive projects and use your technical experience to manage complex works and drive outcomes.
You must have an Engineering qualification, and are registered on the national engineering register or technically eligible to be registered on the national engineering register.

We offer a hybrid working arrangement with 50% days in the office or at site.
Noting Melbourne Water has multiple operational sites, you will be required to do 2-3 site visits each month; therefore it is mandatory that you have a Driver's Licence.
