Transport Services is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for the safe operation of the transport network, keeping Victoria moving, connecting people to what matters most in their lives.
Barwon South West Grampians is a Division within Transport Services, and is responsible for the statewide portfolio of Road Maintenance, delivered by the team in Maintenance Operations.
About the Role The Manager Roadside and Environment position sits within Maintenance Operations – Routine Maintenance and is responsible for leading a team of experts who plan, develop, deliver and maintain natural and social roadside assets and roadside infrastructure across the asset lifecycle.
The role manages all DTP's roadside assets across Victoria (including roadside safety barriers, regulatory signs, roadside vegetation management, significant roadside areas, bushfire mitigation and fuel reduction, litter control, and graffiti management).
Reporting to the Associate Director Routine Maintenance, this is a senior leadership position within the Branch.
The role is expected to operate in a cross-functional leadership team across all Maintenance Operations teams.
Your outcomes and accountabilities All planning, development and operation of Environmental and roadside activities are timely, responsive and of high quality.
Including the management of the Environmental and Roadside teams and management of the finance budget.
Engineering management systems, standards, processes, procedures and information are executed effectively and of the highest quality.
Stakeholders (internal & external) receive high quality technical advice and support with respect to the design, planning, development, delivery and operation of the Environmental and Roadside assets portfolio across the asset lifecycle.
All written reports and correspondence are accurate, timely and responsive whilst being of the highest standard, resulting in highly satisfied stakeholders who trust the advice and support they receive from the Manager Environmental and Roadside.
Excellent management of people, with high levels of engagement from staff in their commitment to delivering on the services required.
