About the Role: We are seeking an experienced National Power Manager to lead and optimize the business-unit operations within the utilities, substation, distribution, and transmission sectors.
This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving strategic initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services across the power portfolio of projects and resources, with an approximate budget of $130 M.
Sydney and Melbourne are the preferred point-of-hire locations, but Brisbane can work if you are flexible with travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement national strategies that align with organizational goals, focusing on power management, efficiency, and safety.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professionals to achieve high performance and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Operational Oversight: Oversee the management of critical power projects and operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
Performance Monitoring: Analyse performance metrics and implement data-driven solutions to enhance service delivery and operational excellence.
Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve operational goals.
Business Development: Maximise Opportunities - Regular engagement with clients, monitor the market, and develop strategic growth plans.
Qualifications & Expertise: Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the utilities sector, with a strong background in power management, substations, and/or transmission, with demonstrated commercial and financial acumen.
Leadership Skills: Proven track record in leading teams and managing large-scale projects in a dynamic environment.
Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of power systems and projects, regulations, and best practices in the industry.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Education: Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, business, or a related field.
Networking and Negotiation: Forge strong relationships to maximise growth opportunities and utilise effective negotiation techniques to ensure early resolution of critical issues.
