At Vestas Australia, we are currently seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Electrical and Mechanical Technicians that will help assist across AUNZ on multiple sites by providing and engaging in the commissioning, operation and maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators.
This role is a travelling role (100%), so significant travel will be required along with a need for high degree of flexibility.
Responsibilities Undertake a wide variety of tasks in support of the Service business, including commissioning of new wind turbines, 4,6 and 7 MW platform, site service support, scheduled service and breakdowns, CIM upgrades and special tasks changing of main components using the Liftra crane.
Ensure all incidents are reported within specific timeframe and assist the management through to completion.
Observing all work instructions, procedures, safety codes and practices, employer OH&S and Environmental requirements and statutory rules and regulations.
Undertake operations and maintenance within the limits of training and authorization including operation of HV and LV.
Participate in site toolbox, safety and other meetings as required.
Maintain company equipment, tooling and PPE to a high standard.
Utilising the Vestas systems, organize travel & accommodation for work assignments and training, maintain accurate and timely expense submission for approval.
Actively pursue personal development and look to share knowledge across the business.
Undertake site inductions prior to assignment.
Recording & reporting on activities with a high degree of accuracy.
Qualifications Electrical or Mechanical Trade certificate, or equivalent proven experience with Service Maintenance and Commissioning within the Vestas WTG Platforms.
High level of WTG Safety & Technical Training.
Valid Driver License.
Competencies Literate with PC & modern technologies to support your day-to-day work.
Safety focused and ability to find practical and compliant solutions to safety issues.
Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and instructions, to support fault finding and/or maintenance activities.
High level of field-based experience.
Trouble shooting skills.
Experience in main components change out.
Organised and high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to participate effectively both individually and as part of team.
Ability to work in pressure/time critical environment.
Flexibility with work rotations to suit operational requirements.
Experience with HV/LV, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
Ability to work at heights and in confined environments.
