As the Principal Electrical Engineer, specializing in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and wind farms, you will spearhead the electrical design and implementation of innovative projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy capabilities in Australia, focusing on BESS and wind farm developments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering design and development activities for BESS and wind farm projects.
Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations for project sites.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
Develop detailed specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, codes, and safety requirements.
Perform technical reviews and provide expertise during project planning and execution phases.
Manage subcontractors and vendors involved in electrical system implementation.
Conduct performance assessments and troubleshooting for electrical systems.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
Support project management in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for electrical engineering activities.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; postgraduate qualifications preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering within the renewable energy or power generation sectors.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing BESS and wind farm electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and practices.
Experience with AutoCAD, ETAP, or other electrical design software.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
