Payroll Services is a function within the People, Safety and Culture group and is responsible for delivering payroll services including taxation, superannuation, salary sacrifice, processing of timesheets (manual and electronic) and the provision of advice to managers and employees. Accuracy and attention to detail is critical as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Rostering Operations is a centralised branch that provides on-site support across multiple custodial and correctional locations which use TimeTarget for managing employee deployment, rosters, timesheets, leave and availability, and entitlements.
About the Role
Working in a team environment, the Rostering Officer is responsible for effective rostering and deployment of staff at their respective location and to support operations. There are multiple roles on offer across various locations due to recent internal promotions.
Some of your duties will include:
Prepare fortnightly rosters up to 8 weeks in advance and maintain daily rosters. Perform daily quality checks and authorize outstanding timesheet exceptions Conduct daily and fortnightly salary checks, resolve anomalies in timesheets, and ensure payroll accuracy. Manage employee data and access in TimeTarget and other systems. Provide ad hoc advice to employees and managers on staffing, rostering and pay matters Record planned and unplanned staff leave and movements in TimeTarget for reporting and payroll Maintain and troubleshoot biometric scanning devices (MorphoManager), create employee profiles, and ensure compliance with rostered hours. Generate TimeTarget reports (e.g., Biometric Scan Compliance, Leave, SAL Check) for management purposes. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in compliance with legislative and departmental policies. Update presentation packs for training groups and conduct rostering information sessions. Ensure health and safety compliance in the workplace. Support the Team Leader role and perform other duties as required.
