Organisation: Department of Transport and Planning Reference: 5026 About the Role This is a Fixed Term Position for 12 months This outstanding opportunity will provide high quality specialised legal services to Land Use Victoria's divisions of Land Registry Services and Strategic Land Assessment & Information, the Registrar of Titles, the Surveyor-General Victoria and the Valuer-General Victoria.
Working under limited direction, review and provide advice on the terms of, draft and negotiate a range of contracts for Land Use Victoria (DTP).
Manage or be involved in tender processes in accordance with the requirements of the Victorian Government Purchasing Board.
Provide strategic and authoritative legal advice to Land Use Victoria on complex and/or sensitive public law and commercial law issues.
Negotiate and liaise with a wide range of internal and external service providers, customer groups and other stakeholders.
Assist as required in the delivery of other legal advice, and perform other duties and tasks as directed.

Qualifications and Experience Mandatory Qualifications and Admission : Law degree or other formal qualification in law.
Admitted, or eligible for admission, as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Knowledge : Sound knowledge of contract law and of the requirements of the Victorian Government Purchasing Board in respect of contracts entered into by State Government Departments.
Experience : Demonstrated experience in the interpretation, review and development of contracts; contract law; public and administrative law; and the formulation of complex and/or sensitive legal advice.
