An excellent opportunity has arisen for a talented Principal Designer to join a dynamic construction consultancy based in Leeds.
They are seeking an experienced Principal Designer to play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and promoting best practices throughout the design and construction phases.
The Principal Designer Role As the Principal Designer, you will be responsible for leading CDM services on various projects, ensuring that health and safety is integrated into the design process from the outset.
You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, and contractors to manage risks and deliver projects that meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015 regulations.
Provide expert advice on health and safety risks during the design phase.
Prepare and review pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
Conduct design risk assessments and ensure effective hazard elimination.
Liaise with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure CDM compliance.
Support the development of junior staff members.
Keep up to date with industry standards and best practices.
The Principal Designer Degree in a construction-related field.
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or APS) is preferred.
Proven experience as a Principal Designer in the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
Proficient in using relevant software and tools.
