Full Time Permanent Position Band 6 - Salary Range $95,073 to $103,531 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.
The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen within Melton City Council's City Futures department for a Strategic Planner.
You will report to the Coordinator of Strategic Planning and play a pivotal role within the strategic planning team, offering assistance and expertise in strategic land use planning, planning scheme interpretation, policy formulation, project management, research, community engagement, and consultation.
Key Responsibilities Provide advice to the public, developers and the clients of Council in relation to the provisions of the Melton Planning Scheme, Council planning policies, strategies and planning procedures.
Prepare project briefs and where required manage the work undertaken by external consultancies.
Review and monitor local policy provisions of the Melton Planning Scheme.
Undertake research and strategic investigations relating to the planning and development across the Council operating area.
Represent Council at Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) and Panel Hearings.
Liaise with State, Commonwealth and non-government agencies on strategic planning matters.
About you To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline with some relevant experience.
Understanding of strategic land use planning principles and land development issues in urban growth areas.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, policy development and planning scheme amendment preparation.
Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
