About the role This is a brand new role leading a highly talented Transport Planning Unit in Merri-bek.
You will be responsible for strategic transport planning and policy development, coordinating complex street design programs and ensuring transport projects are aligned to our Moving Around Merri-bek Strategy.
We are looking for a highly motivated and engaging person to lead the planning, strategy and delivery of complex and often contentious transport projects with a high community interest.
You will play an important role in working across council, with key stakeholders and with our highly engaged community to deliver better streets and places throughout Merri-bek.
Skills and experience required to perform the role Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Civil Engineering or related qualification and relevant experience.
Knowledge and understanding of best-practice transport planning, policy and design for urban communities.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and motivate a high performing team.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and effectively partnering to influence decision-making.
Excellent ability to present and communicate with diverse audiences.
