Our college comprises approximately 1308 students and 130 staff, including Principal class, Education Support Staff, Leading Teachers, Learning Specialists, and Classroom teachers. Selection Criteria SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and experience in responding to student learning needs. SC2 Experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student learning growth. SC3 Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice. SC4 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in establishing collaborative relationships to support student learning. SC5 Behaviors and attitudes consistent with Department values and experience in engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality. Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges: range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation, and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes. Classroom teachers engage in critical reflection to improve their skills and may undertake additional duties as required. Range 2 Classroom Teachers: Play a significant role in improving student performance and educational outcomes, providing mentorship to other teachers, and assisting in professional learning. Range 1 Classroom Teachers: Focus on developing skills to become effective practitioners with structured support and guidance. Responsibilities The role may include but is not limited to: Direct teaching of students; Contributing to curriculum development and evaluation; Participating in parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings; Undertaking non-teaching supervisory duties.
