Role The role includes coordination of other education support class staff and supporting educational services provided to students.
Duties must not include those of a teacher as defined in the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic).
Responsibilities Work with small groups (maximum size is 2 to 4).
Assist students with activities, excursions, and interactions in the school.
Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
Assist with toileting, meals, and lifting of students requiring special care.
Assist in the development and evaluation of Long and Short Term Goals for student Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Provide a point of contact between the school and the parents of students with disabilities.
Attend inclusion and ES team meetings and Student Support Group Meetings (S.
S.
G). Assist with the supervision of students at camps, excursions, and other activities.
