This could be your next big adventure! ABOUT THE POSITION: The position will ensure that the accounting and reconciliation of financial accounting and other assigned accounts are carried out accurately and according to Finance procedures.
Some of the key duties include: Preparing month-end journals, processing and reconciling key general ledger balance sheet accounts (including cash) as assigned and resolving any issues promptly and in accordance with procedures and accounting standards.
Administering and maintaining the fixed asset register to agreed accounting standards ensuring impairment testing, the adjustment to asset register and general ledger where required.
Supporting the development and maintenance of procedures and processes to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of fixed assets.
Providing support for monthly and yearly tax reporting (including Payroll, BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax).
Preparing year-end schedules, supporting documentation, and reconciliation for auditors and assisting with other year-end financial statements preparation activities.
Supporting the monthly review of expense accrual liabilities to ensure they are accurate, including liaising with internal departments to ensure receipting is occurring correctly and on a timely basis.
The successful applicant will have: Knowledge of accounting principles and related accounting standards.
Practical experience in running accounting software (Microsoft GP) or similar finance systems, and intermediate Microsoft skills particularly Excel.
Proven experience in processing journals and performing general ledger reconciliations (including cash and fixed assets management) in accordance with accounting standards.
Exposure to tax compliance including BAS is preferable.
Experience in preparing management reports and financial statements.
OTHER INFORMATION: This is a full-time, ongoing role.
The salary on offer is $92,332 pro rata (base of grade) + 11.5% superannuation.
