About the Role: This is a Permanent Part Time position at 0.8 EFT per fortnight within the rehabilitation department at Royal Children's Hospital.
You will be responsible for providing clinical care under the delegation and supervision of allied health professionals to children requiring specialised rehabilitation following illness, injury or elective procedures.
You will work alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists and with other allied health assistants in our close-knit and friendly team.
The position involves an incredibly interesting and varied caseload with children requiring goal focused innovative care including those with acquired brain injury and/or spinal cord injury and children with cerebral palsy.
Our interdisciplinary team assists both inpatients and outpatients in individual or group sessions.
Other duties include maintaining therapy equipment and administrative duties to support the allied health rehabilitation team.
Classification for this position is IN30 (base salary $65,75 per annum pro rata, plus superannuation).
What You'll Achieve: Provide clinical care to children and adolescents requiring rehabilitation under the supervision of physiotherapists, occupational therapists or speech pathologists.
Give feedback to the allied health professional and team on the patient's progress.
Be part of an interdisciplinary paediatric rehabilitation team.
Your Skills and Experience: Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent.
Experience in working as an Allied Health Assistant.
Experience working with children or in rehabilitation.
Other Requirements: Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain.
Valid Working with Children Check.
Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure.
