Melbourne Girls Grammar is seeking an experienced, proactive and passionate Operations and Aquatics Manager to support the operational and financial performance of the Centre's facilities, whilst furthering the broader Artemis Strategy of creating welcoming, safe and inclusive sport and physical wellbeing programs.
The Artemis Operations Manager is a fixed term position replacing a staff member taking parental leave.
This position will effectively manage and lead the Customer Service team and will collaborate with the Head of Sport and Coaching to provide operational guidance to the Heads of Programs, ensuring Artemis offerings are consistently delivered to a standard of excellence.
The scope of this role is broad - the Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day facility and program operations, whilst also supporting senior leadership to drive a strategic vision for growth and innovation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading customer service and culture - managing the day-to-day operations of the Artemis Centre's front-of-house function including visitor and contractor management.
Managing memberships, enrolments, participant procedures and policies across all programs and offerings.
Providing operational guidance to Heads of Program to ensure their programs are well planned, clearly communicated and delivered to an exceptional and professional standard.
Supporting the oversight and strategic direction of Artemis Aquatics, Artemis Gymnastics, Artemis Holiday Programs and supplementary co-curricular sport and activity offerings.
Forecasting, preparing and monitoring budgets (capital and recurrent) for Artemis Programs.
Managing facility hire agreements and contracts, in co-ordination with the Business Services team.
Working closely with the Facilities Team to ensure all areas within the Artemis Centre are safe and healthy, in excellent working condition, clean and presentable.
Collaborating with a number of teams to organise and deliver internal MGGS events in the Artemis Centre.
Oversee the alignment of primary communication platforms for Artemis programs, ensuring the use of e VI, social media and the Artemis website is consistent and on-brand.
Managing the Artemis Centre's risk assessment portfolio, and implementing risk prevention measures.
Participating in OHS Committee meetings as a representative of the Artemis team.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Minimum 5 years' relevant working experience at an Operations Manager level including Aquatics and pool management.
Tertiary qualification in sports management, business management, sports science or relevant field.
Demonstrated effective organisational, planning and time management skills and high attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience and success leading a small to medium sized team, managing inductions, conducting staff training, providing staff performance feedback, complex problem solving, rostering and scheduling.
Demonstrated experience in sport, fitness or recreational facilities management and/or sporting event coordination.
Demonstrated experience preparing, implementing and monitoring budgets.
