Job Description The Opportunity The opportunity for Technical Property Development within HCA is a pivotal role that encompasses the entire lifecycle of property projects, from initial tender submissions to the final handover. This position not only demands technical expertise but also a strategic vision that aligns with HCA's mission and growth objectives. By ensuring projects adhere to regulatory standards and are delivered within budget and on schedule, you will play a critical role in enhancing the quality of housing services for residents. Moreover, your collaborative efforts with various stakeholders will help cultivate a thriving network that supports HCA's development goals. What you'll do Project Oversight : Lead the tender, design, construction, and delivery phases of HCA-led property development projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards. Quality Assurance : Establish and maintain high-quality benchmarks, facilitating adherence to workplace health and safety regulations. Stakeholder Reporting : Regularly communicate project progress and performance to both internal and external stakeholders. Risk Management : Proactively identify, document, and address project risks and issues, implementing timely mitigation strategies. Business Development : Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including developers and local authorities, to identify new property development opportunities. Strategic Planning : Contribute to the development of best practices and strategic approaches for property development aligned with HCA's objectives. Financial Oversight : Collaborate with internal teams to ensure financial feasibility and compliance with budgetary constraints. Internal Collaboration : Work closely with Development Managers and Project Management Offices to enhance project execution and reporting processes. Desired Skills and Experience What you'll bring: We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for the Technical Property Development role who possesses a strong blend of education, experience, and skills essential for driving successful property projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid educational background in Property, Engineering, or Construction, along with extensive experience in both public and private housing sectors. Genuine interest in social justice and the not-for-profit sector. Tertiary qualifications in Property, Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering projects within agreed scope, time, and budget. In-depth understanding of relevant legislation impacting property development. Proven success in leading the development and delivery of property services at both operational and strategic levels. Strong track record in conducting feasibility studies and managing new developments from concept through delivery. Experience in leading and mentoring teams to achieve project objectives. Ability to prepare comprehensive management reports and evaluations for various stakeholders. Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations applicable to the housing and construction industry.
