Supporting the State Manager of broker home loans for Victoria and Tasmania, your role is to manage the team to achieve desired market share objectives. This involves leading, coaching, and developing a group of Business Development Managers, fostering a high-performance culture that celebrates success but also supports learning, personal development, and growth. Your role will ensure that BDMs are accountable for their sales and quality outcomes, which can be achieved through diligent portfolio and pipeline management, together with supporting our BDMs in building and nurturing relationships with both existing and new brokers. Additionally, the role extends to providing professional guidance to brokers, aiming to enhance their performance and the overall customer experience. This also includes making sure that loan quality and risk management around each relationship meets our expectations, policies, and procedures. Active participation in strategic projects, stakeholder engagement, and focusing on key priorities within the business are also critical components of the role, together with keeping informed of market trends, product offerings, and pricing information of competitors. Collaboration with the Personal Banking leadership team is essential to cultivate an inclusive and psychologically safe working environment. This comprehensive approach ensures not only the achievement of business objectives but also promotes a culture of growth, learning, and inclusivity within the team. What you offer Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate a team, communicate expectations, and develop team capability.Excellent industry knowledge of Australia's home loan broker market, products, and credit policies and processes.Established relationships in Australia's home loan broker market, including with Aggregators at their State Manager level.Proven experience in building internal and external relationships.Proven track record in managing business and operational pressures and customer expectations.Ability to identify and drive data-based decisions to deliver continuous improvement, transformational initiatives, or projects.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a commercial mindset.Experience managing and driving change in a fast-moving environment, using Agile ways of working.Detailed understanding of the complete end-to-end home lending application process used in the broker market.Excellent communication skills, including presenting to large audiences.Proven experience delivering an exceptional level of broker partnering, including the ability to identify key iconic moments and intervene quickly where required to deal with broker escalations and complaints.
