Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital You will act as a responsible and effective team member and will assist in the overall clinical management of the ward.
As an ANUM, you will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care and supervision of care given by junior staff, as well as deputising for and assisting the Nursing Unit Manager.
The position will be within our Rehabilitation Unit, this service helps patients return to good health and independence as soon as possible after injury, illness or surgery.
We offer Allied Health, Cardiac rehabilitation, Dietetics, Falls prevention & balance, Hydrotherapy and Inpatient rehabilitation.
The Position Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in collection of audits, statistics, staff performance management and productivity analysis data.
Monitors staff levels against budget/target levels related to number of bed days, occupancy and patient acuity.
Adjusts staffing levels in consultation with the Unit Manager and/or Coordinator according to changes in levels.
Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in identifying resource needs and developing budgets and operational plans.
Discusses any concerns regarding patients and staff with Nursing Unit Manager/Coordinator grievances, difficulties etc.
Responsible for assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in following issues pertaining to human resources within the department and will assume full responsibility in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager.
Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
You will hold registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Additionally, you will showcase well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a thorough understanding of the acts and legislation that impact nursing practice.
Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and collaborate within nursing, medical, and interdisciplinary teams is essential.
To succeed you will demonstrate strong delegation, planning, organisational, and motivational skills.
A commitment to ongoing education and self-directed learning is essential.
Additionally, you will have the ability to effectively communicate and educate patients, families, and staff, ensuring clarity and understanding in all interactions.

We can offer you Salary: $106,129 - $109,686 (pro rata for part time) per annum plus 11.5% superannuation Permanent Part time positions, working up to 45 hours a fortnight.
