Permanent Full Time Position Weekdays Monday to Friday $103,502 p/annum ($52.38 p/hr) +11.5% Superannuation + Not for Profit Salary Packaging The position predominantly works at the Seaford Production Kitchen but supports our Victorian sites in Kilsyth and Carrum Downs.
Travel will be necessary.

About The Role ... We are seeking a Chef Manager to adequately plan menus in consultation with both the General Manager of Residential Services and Dietitian to ensure nutritional needs of Elders are met while making sure that the food is always appetizing reflecting their preferences.
The position will be responsible for leading the Kitchen team, supporting with training and instruction to ensure adherence to Aged Care quality standards.
The Chef Manager will ensure catering supplies are ordered, maintained and stored in an appropriate manner and according to all relevant regulations, meeting food safety requirements.
About You ... A preparedness to work to the 10 principles of the Eden Alternative philosophy Self-motivated with a flexible, caring and patient attitude Ability to effectively manage time Multilingual or ability to speak other languages.
Experience in training of food handling for staff Qualifications Qualified Chef A current certificate in food safety supervisor / food handling Management related qualifications or experience in Managing catering teams advantageous Skills Ability to Cook multicultural cuisines Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and Requirements in relation to food services Knowledge of and experience with Fresh on-site cooking as well as Cook Chill services The ability to supervise and give clear direction to staff.
Ability and proficiency to cater for 500 plus people The ability to liaise with and put into practice recommendations made by the dietitian Demonstrated computer skills including accuracy and numeric skills A police check with no disclosable outcome, current flu vaccination and a COVID-19 vaccination is required by Mi Care for this position.
A commitment to work exclusively with Mi Care Residential Aged Care facility as your only employer during COVID-19 will be highly regarded.
