Provide strategic leadership of the delivery of a major program of capital projects across the justice and emergency services sectors.
Fixed term opportunity up to 5 years within Community Safety Building Authority.
SES Grade 2: $290,601 - $419,000 Total Renumeration Package.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Community Safety Building Authority to provide a critical role within Corporate Services and Infrastructure.
About the Business Unit The Corporate Services and Infrastructure group oversees and leads the key public accountability requirements of the department including finance, procurement, evidence and insights, performance reporting and risk, audit and integrity.
The group also manages the governance and delivery of major infrastructure through the Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA).
The CSBA designs, procures, builds and upgrades the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe.
It provides end-to-end project development, management and delivery of Victoria's new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety features, such as pedestrian walkway bollards and CCTV networks.
As well as delivering new infrastructure, CSBA modernises, expands and upgrades existing facilities.
About the Role Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Corporate Services and Infrastructure, the CEO provides leadership, oversight and accountability for the planning, procurement and delivery of a broad range of new build, expansion and refurbishment capital projects across a number of Justice portfolios including the Corrections, Youth Justice, Attorney-General and Emergency Services portfolios.
It is also accountable for ensuring the effective delivery of this pipeline of capital projects across metropolitan, regional and rural Victoria to achieve the best value-for-money outcomes for Victorians in accordance with time, budget and quality standards, and through meaningful stakeholder engagement, particularly with CSBA's clients and industry.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have: A significant record of achievement in leadership, with a track record of success in overseeing the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
Demonstrable experience in effectively managing commercial and financial risk across capital programs.
Strategic understanding of and ability to keep abreast of emerging issues and risks that may impact the department's programs and service delivery.
High-level communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence and provide authoritative advice at ministerial and senior executive levels.
Highly developed relationship building and stakeholder management skills, with a track record in building and maintaining successful partnerships with a broad client base including portfolio and central agencies and service providers.
Proven track record in leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams and promoting a culture which is inclusive, encourages initiative and innovation and strives for continuous improvement.
Demonstrated high-order conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to positively contribute to the senior executive team and develop innovative solutions to complex and/or sensitive issues.
