TWH Advisory is proud to be partnering with our iconic Northern Australian agriculture client to bring this newly created CFO role to market. Our client is a large-scale asset owner with diverse operations spanning cattle, cropping, horticulture, and downstream production facilities. Due to the current opportunities for agricultural growth in the Northern Australia market, including the recent construction & commissioning of a high-tech manufacturing plant, the organisation has created a Chief Financial Officer role within their org structure. The CFO role will be based in corporate offices in Collins Street (VIC), with some WFH flexibility and bi-monthly travel to the asset in Northern Australia. Quarterly board meetings are held in Melbourne with the Joint Venture partners. The role has previously been managed by another company resource, who will remain in the organisation but move their focus to portfolio assets in other regions of Australia. This new role reports directly to the Chair of the Board and has no direct reports. The transactional bookkeeping and account preparation has been outsourced and is performed to a high standard, allowing the CFO to focus their role on capital management, portfolio diversification, market development, stakeholder management, forecasting, and project management. The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing the commercial operations and financial reporting requirements of the asset whilst ensuring the organisation is adequately prepared for the scale required to achieve their strategic objectives. By providing informed commercial and strategic insights to the Board, key financial metrics will be achieved and operating risks will be well managed. The successful candidate will excel in a team environment partnering effectively with the board, government and industry stakeholders, customers, service providers, and the Northern Australian communities in which they operate. They will also be highly pro-active, independent, show good judgement and be capable of executing their role with minimal instruction and supervision. To be successful in securing this role, the CFO will have: A Commerce/Accounting degree and be CAANZ/CPA qualified.10+ years' experience in finance leadership roles including accountability to Boards and managing a broad range of stakeholders. Commercial and strategic leadership experience within large-scale agricultural asset management, either professionally or from a family farming background. Expertise in capital management, financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting. Strong understanding of risk management and internal controls. Knowledge of manufacturing inventory systems. The highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethics pursuant to the responsibilities of the position and being a representative of such a recognisable organisation. Outstanding interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop and build rapport instantly with people. The flexibility to travel to Northern Australia assets between 7-9 times annually. A commercial basis for decision making, with an eye to organisational impact and efficiency gains. The successful candidate will be subject to reference checks, a national police check, and certification of educational qualifications prior to an offer of employment being confirmed.
