Civil Engineer - Eastern Melbourne - Supportive Culture We (Contour Personnel) are representing our client who was founded in 2013, where the organisation specialises in providing expert solutions and advice across all areas of stormwater management.
Based in Upper Ferntree Gully, the team relishes the local community and appreciates the tranquillity of a non-city based office whilst maintaining strong connections to the broader stormwater industry.
The team are considered experts in the fields of 2 dimensional flood modelling, water quality modelling, strategy, advisory, stormwater design, WSUD, waterway management and drainage design.
The team have presented at numerous water conferences over the last 10 years and are well known for their technical ability and communication skills.
It's also worth mentioning there are two past Stormwater Victoria Presidents in the team.
Being a small team, we offer each member the opportunity to work across the entire business from small models to large, from project management to design.
We have a strong pipeline of work and need additional enthusiastic modellers and designers in our team to meet demand.
The Role: The client organisation is looking for an engineer to join our team and work across a variety of stormwater projects.
The position includes the following opportunities: Site investigations for new projects and carrying out investigations and inspections on existing drainage assets and waterways.
Both Melbourne and regionally based.
Undertaking hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for flood studies and future drainage infrastructure using the latest software.
(Tuflow, 12d, RORB, Mike DHI etc.) Assisting in the development of drainage strategies and providing engineering solutions for improved drainage outcomes.
Monitor and report to management on changes to designs and assess the effect on costs.
Work from strategy and feasibility through to detailed design of stormwater infrastructure.
Work with both private sector and government stakeholders.
Operate within an integrated team with easy access to Principals and a team respected by the broader industry.

About you: Motivated and passionate about improving the health of our waterways.
Experience in TUFLOW, QGIS HECRAS, DRAINS, XP STORM, CAD, 12 D, Gold Sim or MUSIC would be advantageous but not essential (training is provided).
Experience using rainfall and runoff data (ARR2019) for drainage designs & modelling would be advantageous.
Experience in flood analysis, solution finding and mitigation would be advantageous but not essential.
At least 3 years Tuflow experience.
At least 3 years Mike DHI experience.
Experience in preparing technical reports to suit planning applications and future design would be advantageous but not essential.
A completed tertiary degree in environmental or civil engineering, and preferably a Masters of Engineering - environmental or civil.
3 years of experience in the industry.
Professional registration or eligibility towards approved accreditation body for engineering education.
