Civil & Track Engineer – Major Rail Projects The Opportunity: Our client is a leading national engineering design consultant specialising in major road and railway infrastructure works in Australia.
As a result of a major award of a series projects, we are seeking an experienced Civil & Track Design Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities: Support the design manager with the proper implementation of the project along with supporting junior engineers and building of a team to further develop their skills and expertise.
Detail design of permanent way (experience within the VLine or MTM Rail Infrastructure environment highly regarded).
Leading Day to Day design activities to address track design and associated works including earthworks, drainage and flood assessments.
Knowledge of track maintenance practices and construction methodologies and the ability to consider/define requirements within design development.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Knowledge/Experience Requirements: NER with the ability to gain a Statement of Competency with VLine or MTM (essential).
Minimum 5 years+ of professional experience in design or construction of track and railway infrastructure, related to level crossing removal and associated works.
Exposure to flood assessment, drainage and surface drainage design.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a collaborative environment, whilst having a dedicated approach to working within and meeting strict project deadlines.
Excellent communication skills when dealing with Clients, Stakeholders and Alliance partners.
Client focused approach to service delivery.
Demonstrated experience and a strong understanding of the capabilities of Auto CAD & Microstation.
Open Rail and Open Road experience will be highly regarded, training can be provided for the right person.
