The Role: Northern Health is seeking a dynamic Clinical Nurse Consultant for our newly established 25-bed Women's Acute Mental Health Unit at Ward 7, Northern Hospital.
In this role, you will oversee the implementation of key Department of Health frameworks to deliver best-practice care, support program development, and contribute to workforce mentoring.
Working closely with the Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in establishing this vital service and providing specialised care for women facing acute mental health challenges.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a compassionate team and make a lasting impact on women's mental health services at Northern Health.
Along with the Program Manager, you will play a key role in the establishment and commissioning of this vital new service.
As a pivotal part of the leadership team, you will drive clinical excellence, foster a positive and supportive environment, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of women in our care.

To be successful in this role you will have: A current registration with AHPRA, have a minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience in mental health nursing including acute inpatient units.
Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
Knowledge and skills in Trauma-Informed Care, Sensory Modulation and SAFEWARDS.
Experience in identifying precursors to occupational violence and preventative strategies.
Demonstrated ability to proactively engage and provide clinical support to consumers experiencing high levels of psychological distress.
