Your new role: We are currently seeking an eager and enthusiastic Clinical Supervisor to join our Wintringham – Eunice Seddon Home on a Full Time basis.
This exciting position aims at delivering quality services and providing clinical leadership and advice for staff while also overseeing urgent operational matters and providing complex care.
You will be required to coordinate the development of technical nursing care plans and provide leadership in the management of residents care and supports.
Leading the team, you will have an excellent understanding of current best practice guidelines and be confident in supporting clinical and operational guidance on care delivery.
Your responsibilities and duties will be as below but are not limited to: Provide clinical leadership in the provision of quality care for residents.
Work in collaboration to ensure that all residents have current care plans developed in consultation with residents, families, the multidisciplinary team.
Coordinate the development of technical nursing care plans e.g.
Catheter management, palliative care, infection control.
Work in collaboration with the nurses to ensure end of life care plans are completed for all residents.
Oversee and directly supervise to provide complex care such as wound management, palliative care and medical emergency procedures.
Refer to allied health/external services as required, for specialist assessments of individual resident needs.
Manage changing care needs of residents as assessed and/or raise issues at meetings related to care needs and oversee implementation of recommendations.
Provide leadership in the management of staff supervision and delegation of care.
Allocate staff according to resident care requirements and staff skill mix.
Assist with recruitment and orientation of nursing and care staff, and support their induction to Wintringham.
Maintain documentation as required for individual resident's and for the operations of the home.
Maintain delivery of service provisions to support and fulfill the ACAQC – Aged Care Standards.
What we need from you: Postgraduate qualifications (Gerontology and/or Management) - Desirable.
Current AHPRA Registration – Registered Nurse Division 1 - Essential.
Sound Knowledge of the Aged Care Standards.
Knowledge and understanding of the special needs of older people and multiple comorbidities.
Experience in a senior lead role, responsible for staff management.
Experience working with clients with challenging behaviour.
Experience in the assessment and management of changes in clinical needs of older people.
Proven ability to lead a team of multi-disciplinary staff.
The ability to enhance or maintain our resident's independence and lifestyle.
A friendly, approachable and non-judgmental attitude.
