D'Arcy Weil is representing a leading organisation in the renewable energy sector, seeking a skilled Commercial Advisor to drive portfolio development for battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role is central to formulating market entry strategies, developing financial models, and conducting detailed market analysis to advance the organisation's BESS portfolio and achieve its growth objectives.
As a Commercial Advisor, you will be instrumental in creating and implementing strategies to expand the BESS portfolio. Your focus will be on developing market entry plans, conducting financial analyses, and evaluating market trends to drive successful investment and project decisions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the strategic development of impactful BESS projects, working with cutting-edge technologies to influence the future of energy storage. You will play a crucial role in shaping the commercial landscape of BESS, collaborating with industry experts and stakeholders to advance your organisation's objectives. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement market entry strategies for BESS projects, targeting key growth areas and opportunities.
Create detailed financial models to assess project viability and support investment decisions.
Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the BESS sector.
Formulate strategic plans to enhance the commercial potential and success of the BESS portfolio.
Lead negotiations and manage contractual agreements with technology providers, developers, and financial partners.
Work closely with technical, legal, and financial teams to ensure successful project execution and integration.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including industry partners, regulatory bodies, and community groups.
Prepare and present commercial proposals, financial reports, and strategic recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to inform strategy and decision-making.
Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives to maximise the performance and profitability of the BESS portfolio.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering professional growth and excellence.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree or relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MBA) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in commercial advisory roles within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on BESS or similar technologies.
Proven expertise in developing market entry strategies, conducting financial analyses, and performing market assessments.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, negotiate contracts, and drive strategic initiatives.
In-depth understanding of the BESS sector, including market dynamics, technology trends, and regulatory environments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey strategic insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience in leading and mentoring teams to achieve strategic goals.
