Job Title: Projects Finance and Commercial Analyst Function: Projects Reporting to: Commercial Manager Scope: Clarke Energy Ltd Location: Knowsley with some UK and overseas travel required Job Purpose: Assist the Project Management function in the reporting, control and management of the financial and commercial aspects of the project portfolio.
Responsibilities: Monitor and manage project budgeting ensuring forecasting and all activities planned by the project teams are accounted for within the reporting structure.
Ensure the method of financial reporting is constantly up to date and in line with all current standards.
Manage the department's overall financial reporting requirements adding consistent improvement as when possible.
Assist in the build-up of commercial variations and contract notices.
Assist the team with scrutiny and analysis of project variations, valuations, and payment certificates.
Assist with the commercial procurement of major works packages and analysis against cost to budget.
Manage financial and commercial risk, value management and cost control working alongside the Project Managers.
Negotiate and assist in supplier/contractor small works agreements and contracts.
Demonstrate business acumen to manage cost, cash flow and payments.
Question and assist in management of scope identification and allocation through the supply chain.
Assist with the project management team with change management tasks.
Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills: A comprehensive level of commercial experience preferably with a contracting organisation.
Extensive experience of project financial management and management of report to the senior business.
Good understanding of general construction and installation practices and methods.
Suitably experienced with general construction contract administration.
Personal Attributes and Skills: Able to work under pressure.
Able to communicate at all levels.
Good self-discipline, organised and have the ability to use own initiative.
Must be willing to travel at home and overseas.
Driving license.
