About the Role We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager focusing on facilities to provide high-level commercial leadership within our Infrastructure Services Unit.
This pivotal role is focused on overseeing key facilities maintenance contracts and contributing to the Council's strategic asset management approach.
You will play a critical role in translating Council's financial goals into clear contractual targets, ensuring value for money, and driving performance improvements in collaboration with contractors.
This role has a high level of commercial focus on managing complex contracts, developing and implementing performance regimes, and negotiating market-driven rates.
You will coach and mentor stakeholders on commercial contract management and support the provision of strategic asset advice to support long-term planning and financial sustainability.
About You You are an experienced commercial contracts professional with a strong background in managing high-value service contracts, ideally within a strategic asset and facilities management context.
Your knowledge of facilities management systems, performance management methodologies, and financial oversight will enable you to succeed in this dynamic role.
You will also have demonstrated experience in influencing and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful contract outcomes.
Your ability to monitor market trends and apply this knowledge to manage and negotiate contracts effectively will set you apart.
You are comfortable working in a leadership role, fostering strong relationships with contractors and council stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Extensive experience managing complex, high-value facilities management contracts.
Strong commercial acumen and an ability to contribute to the provision of strategic asset advice.
Proven ability to design and manage performance regimes, ensuring contractors meet or exceed performance standards.
Financial literacy and the ability to monitor budgets and value for money in contracts.
Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
