The Opportunity We're looking for a proactive, experienced leader to guide an amazing team in creating and delivering initiatives that strengthen community resilience across East Gippsland.
In this role, you'll work with local stakeholders to meet the diverse needs of the community and build stronger, more connected, and adaptable communities.
In this role, you will: Create strong and effective relationships with community and their key support organisations in East Gippsland.
Lead, monitor and support the identification, coordination, and implementation of a diverse range of community resilience programs, activities, and initiatives that: Are aligned to community need and priorities.
Comply with funding or budget requirements.
Promote community capacity and capability for resilient and connected communities.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity leading a small team and is based from the Pyke Street office in Bairnsdale.
Minimum Requirements Tertiary qualifications in Community Development or a related discipline, and experience in a similar role.
Leadership and coordination skills in community development, community-based initiatives, and resilience programs in or related to a local government context.
Experience in project management, team management, budget oversight, and external funding coordination.
Demonstrated experience in engaging with communities, community groups, and stakeholders to contribute to community-based initiatives and deliver on community-focused projects, services, and partnerships.
Problem-solving skills to contribute to the development and delivery of programs, with the ability to work within established resources.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check, psychometric testing, and hold a current and valid employee Working with Children Check.
You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
