About the position: The Employee Safety, Wellbeing, and Inclusion Division (ESWI Division) is committed to the Department's vision to create safe, healthy, respectful, and inclusive working environments for Department employees to thrive and succeed.
The ESWI Division performs its functions through six teams that span from prevention, through to response and recovery, along with strategy, OHS support services, workplace diversity and inclusion.
These teams adopt a holistic approach for supporting the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce across schools, central and regional offices.
This includes Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Workers' Compensation policy advice and implementation, for both physical and mental health and wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
This role will actively and strategically manage key contracts within the OHS Statewide Systems and Support Team.
This includes managing a key, high value contract for the Department, relationship management responsibilities and effective planning and engagement of contractual services.
The role will work closely with the leadership team in the Branch to plan and drive strategic use of the contract to achieve the goals of the Branch, and lead on measuring and ensuring performance under the contract.
Key accountabilities include: Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including key contract personnel.
Relationship management to facilitate effective communications and address issues as they arise.
The management of potential risks and liabilities associated with contracted work.
Maximising value of delivery within contractual terms and service deliverables.
Effectively planning to ensure the contract is future-ready for any changes in operations or service delivery.
Performance monitoring against contractual obligations, establishing metrics and taking corrective action when necessary to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
Cost management ensuring contracts are managed within budgetary constraints, monitoring expenditure, and identifying effective utilisation of funds.
Continuous improvement by seeking opportunities to improve contract management processes, streamline workflows, enhance contract templates, and implement best practices to optimise efficiency and effective contractual administration.
This role leads and manages key projects for the OHS Services Statewide Systems and Support team, including effective contract and project management.
The role will identify and establish projects effectively, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and satisfactory to the set objectives.
This includes playing a crucial role in planning and leading project activities, identifying resource requirements, mitigating risk, and driving successful outcomes.
This role will work with other key stakeholders, including contract managers and project managers in the ESWI Division, to build and lead a strong community of practice, share learnings, and drive continuous improvement.
