Description: Mission statement: To execute project design authority for control engineering disciplines with medium to high complexity within the Grid Edge Solutions, Microgrids and Battery Energy Storage business.
Coordinate and execute engineering assignments across several disciplines within the project scope and value chain - efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and business objectives.
The primary responsibilities will be controlling system design of Microgrids and BESS Systems and project engineering activities across diverse applications (e.g.
Mining, Oil & Gas, grid scale storage, Commercial & Light Industrial).
Your responsibilities: You will develop and deploy control schemes for complex Grid Connected battery projects.
You will manage design, integration, deployment, and commissioning process for control systems both on-site and remotely.
You will act as a technical lead, approve design deliverables, review all project documents for conformity and quality assurance, anticipate and solve unprecedented problems, crucial issues and/or unique conditions and serve as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods.
You will assist in preparing proposals/presentations of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
You will represent function in standardization committees and in communication and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments, act as a technical specialist support to project and team members, collaborate and network within Hitachi Energy and externally and lead engineering teams.
You will review, develop, and document quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques, ensure that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements, contribute towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.
You will ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment, attendance at required health, safety and environment training, reporting injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events and modeling safe work behavior in all aspects of work and actively identifying hazards and risk controls.

Your background: You hold a bachelor or master's in electrical engineering discipline.
Minimum 3 years of work experience.
Experienced with standard communication protocols: MODBUS, DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104 etc.
Understanding of a control system of Generator connection to the Grid: Spinning reserve, Frequency Control Ancillary services, Voltage support, Active power etc.
Familiarity with grid interconnection SCADA requirements for AEMO and various TNSP.
Knowledge of Design and Commissioning of Control System in the Renewable industry is preferred.
This role requires time-to-time travel as per the project requirement.
Strong communication skill set.
