About you You will hold relevant Cooking and Food Handling certifications and have a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety Laws and Occupational Health and Safety in a kitchen environment.
You will have demonstrated experience in all facets of food preparation including menu planning, preparation of daily meals ensuring they are fresh, well presented and appetizing.
Furthermore, you will: Assist with planning and preparing menus and meals for residents in accordance with any dietary, cultural and care needs, ensuring they meet the daily living needs, nutrition and hydration requirements of the residents.
Perform basic food preparation and presentation tasks including specialist cooking functions.
Clean food preparation and consumption areas, cooking equipment and utensils.
Serve and deliver meals to residents.
Assist the Chef with ordering, checking and rotating of all food supplies.
Assist the Chef in the orientation of new staff and achieve safe and efficient work practices.
Effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities to Food Service Assistants.
Manage resources efficiently, including stock control, following maintenance schedules, and use of equipment.
Perform other duties within the scope of practice and as required by the Chef consistent with the broad emphasis of the position.
