Sounds like your kind of workplace? Fantastic! We have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator Emergency Management and Recovery - MEMO, to join our team, working and collaborating across Council and the community.
This position will develop and deliver strategies, plans and policies that enhance resilience, relief and recovery outcomes for residents of the shire and is critical in driving Council's emergency management capability.
A typical day will include: Support delivery of Nillumbik's Municipal Emergency Management Plan including actioning, embedding and reporting on progress and outcomes.
Drive the development, delivery and implementation of specialist advice to the Manager Community Safety / Municipal Recovery Manager.
Support the delivery of Council's obligations under legislation, ensuring Council's emergency management response is regularly reviewed and improved.
Support the Emergency Management Unit to work cooperatively with the community and stakeholders.
Support emergency management initiatives and prepare briefing papers for strategic decision making.
Support the delivery of a Municipal Emergency Management Plan with partner agencies.
Leading and empowering a team to deliver outcomes in line with the Council Plan.
What you'll bring to the role: Demonstrated experience and knowledge of best practice in Emergency Management.
Experience in local government or similar service environment.
Experience in managing complex issues in municipal emergency management.
Understanding of the multi-agency nature of emergency management.
Degree or Diploma in Government (Statutory Compliance) or relevant field.
A current Victorian Driver's Licence.
