The Course Coordinator is responsible for providing professional management of coursework delivered at the Institute.
You will report to and support the Head of School to ensure high-quality teaching and learning outcomes with a focus on continuous course improvement, industry engagement, continuous professional development, and contribute to scholarship activities at AIHE in line with requirements of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency.
The Course Coordinator is also a member of the Academic Team, the Course Advisory Committee, and the Teaching and Learning Committee.
Remuneration will be dependent upon the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: A Course Coordinator's duties will include (but not be limited to) the following: Deliver subjects as required Contribute to the structured professional development of academic and professional staff Contribute to regular external benchmarking of coursework Contribute to the recruitment and management of academic staff Contribute to academic induction and student orientation each term of study Assess and advise on student applications for recognition of prior learning Oversee and report on student assessment and on internal and external moderation activities Manage the annual review of coursework in line with the Institute's policies and frameworks Monitor the LMS website for the course to ensure academic staff have timely access to the LMS Ensure lecturers have appropriate resources for the delivery of subjects Contribute to the development of timetables for each term of study in consultation with academic staff Liaise with academic staff in ensuring student progress, including monitoring student progression Manage allegations of academic misconduct, maintain appropriate records and provide referrals to academic support services as required Ensure accurate records of student results and grades for each term of study Oversee and report on student satisfaction surveys and staff satisfaction surveys for each term of study Provide course-specific advice to students as required at any point in their course, including ensuring eligibility for graduation Assist with monitoring and following up on Academic Integrity concerns reported by lecturers Ensure prescribed and recommended texts per subject are current and available to students and staff prior to commencement of the term of study Compile regular reports on assessment, course review and moderation for the Teaching and Learning Committee, Course Advisory Committee as well as the Head of School for presentation to Academic Board Comply with the Institute's policies, including Occupational Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity and Academic Integrity Other duties as required by the Head of School and General Manager Some out-of-office hours' work may be required, in addition to interstate travel from time to time.
ATTRIBUTES, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Experience, knowledge and skills required: Track record of experience in the administration and delivery of a course in a higher education setting, including teaching, curriculum design and review, timetabling, and assessment moderation.
Demonstrable record of academic scholarship as reflected in publications and conference presentations Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary teaching, learning and assessment principles relevant and demonstrated experience in applying these principles Successful leadership experience with the ability to motivate, lead and develop people, including team building and mentoring.
Demonstrated engagement with industry, profession and discipline.
Knowledge of contemporary teaching practices Previous experience as part of TEQSA accreditation and re-accreditation processes is highly desirable.
The Course Coordinator will also have the following work attributes: Superior interpersonal written and oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and interact with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain effective professional relationships.
Highly developed organisational and planning skills with the ability to determine priorities, be self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ability to work to meet deadlines and work within the parameters of tight timeframes as a core member of the Academic Team.
Qualifications: Doctorate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience.
External accreditation with peak regulation bodies (such as CAANZ, CPA Australia, or PMI) is highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL CLEARANCES AND CHECKS The successful candidate will be required to undertake a Working with Children Check (WWCC) with the South Australian government and or in Victorian Government.
