Are you a recent Criminology Graduate? Are you passionate about working with vulnerable children who have been exposed to trauma and adverse childhood experiences? We are looking for a Criminology Graduate to work as a Mental Health Support Assistant at a small mental health provision in Swindon.
All the students in the school have mental health needs, including anxiety, attachment needs, post-traumatic stress, depression and anger.
The school has a deep focus on addressing the social, emotional and therapeutic needs of the students, and ensuring every individual feels happy and safe in school.
If you are patient, friendly and proactive, please apply! As a Mental Health Support Assistant, your day-to-day will involve working with a range of students, on a one-to-one basis, as well as in wider groups.
You will help prepare learning materials for the students, check on their welfare, and help increase their independent living skills.
You will be working alongside Teachers and Specialist Staff to support the students socially and emotionally.
By building strong, robust relationships, you will increase the engagement, attainment and life chances of the children, aiming to ensure they do not enter the criminal justice system.
