The Data Manager will guide the creation and implementation of effective data management strategy and practice.
They will work closely with project teams to optimise the management and use of data within agency systems to support agency decision making processes and influence stakeholders to adopt better data management practice.
Skills and Experience Required: 1.
• Demonstrated experience designing and leading the implementation of data management/governance frameworks, policy, procedure, guidance or practice in a program and/or project environment.
2.
• Clear, concise and articulate oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate.
3.
• A proven track record of working effectively to tight timeframes and deliver outcomes on time, preferably for Australian Government organisations.
4.
• Proven ability to deliver concurrent deliverables to tight deadlines, using initiative and responding flexibly to change and uncertainty.
5.
• A good working knowledge of and demonstrated experience in, applying the Data Management Book of Knowledge (DMBo K) to develop data management/ governance practice and progress enterprise data projects in a digital setting 1.
• Demonstrated expertise in areas of: data planning and operations (including requirement gathering and development), data security/cyber security, data catalogue and enterprise business glossary development and data governance framework and instrument development (including within a digital setting) 2.
• Experience working with Australian Government agencies data operations and or digital environment 3.
• Experience with Azure/Office 365 environment Location and Contract Term: This role can be based in ACT, NSW, QLD, VIC or SA.
12 month contract with 1 x 12 month contract extension options pending budget and delegate approval.
The work will be performed in a hybrid data/information management environment (in cloud and on premise).
The role will require office attendance for at least 2 days a week.
The details will be negotiated with the successful candidate Security Requirements : Applicants must be Australian Citizens.
A baseline Security Clearance is required for this role.
