About the role We're seeking a Privacy & Data Protection Services Lead to join a highly skilled team.
The role will report into the Group Manager, Privacy and Data Protection and manage a small team of specialists who are responsible for promoting strong privacy and data protection practices through the provision of core services.
The successful candidate will lead the Privacy and Data Protection team and manage the team's capability and practices while promoting and advising the business on activities required to comply with relevant legislation and regulations across all jurisdictions the business operates within.
You'll join an innovative team, who provide expert guidance, assessments and support to minimise privacy risks through analysis, Privacy by Design principles, investigation and remediation activities.

Day-to-day, you will: Lead and manage the Privacy and Data Protection Services Team to enhance the Transurban Group's risk posture through appropriate privacy and data protection activities.
Lead, monitor and report the Transurban Group's PCI DSS and SWIFT compliance activities to the Group Manager, Privacy and Data Protection.
Lead the Privacy and Data Protection Services Team activities to maintain effective Privacy Incident and Privacy Impact Assessment processes.
Collaborate and manage all relevant internal and external stakeholders to support privacy and data protection activities as well as identify and advise on potential privacy risks, issues, incidents and recommend actions.
Proactively contribute to the uplift of and maturity of Transurban's Privacy Framework and privacy culture and provide regular management reporting requirements.
Lead ongoing education and training to embed Privacy by Design principles and guidelines throughout the Transurban Group.
Align the Privacy and Data Protection Services Team processes with legislative and regulatory requirements for all relevant jurisdictions and maintain knowledge of applicable laws and standards.
Execute effective people processes and practices, as well as establish and regularly review team priorities, performance objectives and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: Technical expertise in PCI DSS or a similar data protection discipline and preferably have formal security certifications completed (such as CISM or CISSP).
Relevant Tertiary qualifications, at degree level and/or demonstrated significant equivalent experience and competencies.
Demonstrated experience with leading data protection related activities and initiatives.
Extensive experience and knowledge of privacy, records management and information security.
Knowledge of strategy and mitigation techniques to limit impacts on environments where Personal Information is collected, stored, accessed or used.
Your communication skills will be highly developed enabling you to mediate difficult conversations and influence outcomes.
A natural builder of relationships, you'll enjoy getting on the front foot, embedding yourself in the business and interested stakeholders.
You'll naturally explore new ideas and better ways of working and you'll have the ability to implement continuous improvement processes, including the role.
