Your New Role The Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) supports the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in leading and directing safe, effective, and person-centered care at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, ensuring key performance and access targets are met. Working with the Service Leadership Team and Operational Managers, the DCOO oversees daily operations to achieve quality, financial and operational goals, while managing access, demand, and flow across the hospital. This role is responsible for leading an integrated service response that contributes to the delivery of the RMH vision and strategic priorities, through embedding and living in the Melbourne Way. About You Tertiary qualifications in health, business, or management. Commitment to the Melbourne Way values: people-first, kindness and excellence. Extensive leadership experience in a large health service. Proven experience managing change in complex environments. Strong collaboration skills with health services and external organizations. Background in service planning and development. Key Responsibilities Manage and improve patient flow, access, demand systems, and daily operations. Oversee service-wide improvements, digital upgrades, and quality initiatives. Support RMH's priorities, policies, and decisions across services. Lead operations in Access, Critical Care, and Investigative Services. Drive strategic and capital planning to align resources with operational needs.
