As a Development Manager, you will lead the end-to-end development of microgrid solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Your leadership will drive projects from feasibility assessments and design to commissioning, ensuring they meet client needs, regulatory standards, and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities Manage the full project lifecycle of microgrid developments, from initial concept through to commissioning.
Oversee feasibility studies, including technical, financial, and environmental assessments for potential microgrid sites.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operational teams to design scalable microgrid solutions tailored to specific client needs.
Manage stakeholder relationships, including government bodies, clients, and third-party service providers.
Ensure compliance with local and national energy regulations, including grid connection standards.
Drive innovation in microgrid technology and deployment strategies, leveraging cutting-edge tools and solutions.
Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address technical, regulatory, and financial risks.
Develop proposals, presentations, and documentation to secure project approvals and funding.
Lead the negotiation of contracts with suppliers, service providers, and clients.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage approvals, permits, and grid connection agreements.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative project environment.
Monitor the performance of existing microgrid projects to ensure optimal operation and continuous improvement.
Ensure all projects align with sustainability goals and contribute to reducing carbon emissions.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
Minimum of 7+ years' experience in project development within the renewable energy, microgrids, or distributed energy sectors.
Proven track record of leading complex energy projects, preferably in microgrid or distributed power systems.
Strong understanding of microgrid design, grid connection requirements, and energy storage solutions.
Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of Australian energy regulations, particularly in the context of grid integration and compliance.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency in project management software and tools, with a focus on resource allocation and timeline tracking.
Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and guide teams to successful outcomes.
