Digital Operations Officer x 2, Supreme Court of Victoria Job posted: 08/10/2024 Job type: Full time / until 30 June 2025 Occupation: IT and Telecommunications Reference: VG/C00354_C00355 As part of its Digital Strategy, the Supreme Court of Victoria (the Court) continues to embrace modern technology and the development of innovative approaches in order to deliver more efficient practices and processes.
The journey of innovative change within the Court has been set within a coherent framework of values including accessibility, transparency, competence, timeliness and equality before the law.
The Digital Litigation Team was created for the purpose of supporting the judiciary, associates, practitioners and other Court users through the transition from paper-based litigation to e Litigation, to improve the capability and efficacy of e Litigation, and to encourage engagement with this mode of hearing.
The Digital Operations Officer is a pivotal role within the Supreme Court of Victoria's Digital Litigation Team and focuses on supporting digital court operations, enhancing business processes, and ensuring that digital technologies are effectively integrated across all Court divisions.
The Digital Operations Officer serves as a key consultant, working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, provide technical support, and facilitate the successful operation of virtual, hybrid and in-person hearings.
The role is required to work on-site to provide support for the practical and technical arrangements for hearings.

About the Role Digital and Business Operational Improvement: Identify and recommend actions for operational improvement through the application of digital technologies within established guidelines and precedents.
Assist in managing small to medium projects related to digital transformation, including planning, execution, and evaluation phases.
Aid in the deployment and integration of digital technologies within Court operations, diagnosing and resolving technical equipment issues.
Deliver training programs to enhance the digital capabilities of Judiciary and Court staff, focusing on the practical application of digital technologies in both courtroom settings and broader business operations.
Conduct regular data analysis and generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of digital initiatives.
Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices, including participation in business planning, responding to policy and process changes, and contributing to policy and procedure development.
e Court Support: Support the Court Hearings Operations Coordinator in delivering a range of Digital Litigation services, ensuring service delivery standards are met.
Provide initial advice and referral services to internal stakeholders, assisting in the preparation or presentation of cases within the scope of the Court's operations.
Coordinate and support the practical and technical arrangements for virtual, hybrid, and in-person hearings.
Liaise with Judicial staff, Court staff, and external stakeholders to support virtual, hybrid and in-person hearings, e Trials, livestreaming, and transcript requirements.
Deliver training programs to enhance the digital capabilities of Court staff, emphasising the practical application of e Court technologies in courtroom settings.
Provide guidance and technical support to Court users on the Court's e Trial support tools.
About You Demonstrated experience in business improvement and process optimisation within a defined framework, preferably in a legal or government setting.
Advanced computer skills, including the ability to operate and maintain digital document management systems and virtual hearing platforms such as Webex and Zoom.
Completion of or studying for business administration, law, legal related studies, or Certificate IV in Government Studies Court Services is desirable, but not mandatory.
