About the Role This is a five-year fixed term SES 1 position Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Governance and Portfolio Services, the Director, Integrity and Ethical Behaviour is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the department's integrity, probity, and fraud and corruption resilience functions. This role ensures alignment with the Victorian Public Sector Commission's guidelines and Whole of Victorian Government priorities, upholding the high standards of integrity and ethical behaviour expected by the community. The position requires an experienced leader with expertise in integrity, ethics and compliance, capable of building strong relationships, engaging stakeholders, and leading teams in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments. The Director is accountable for governing and maintaining robust frameworks and policies that enhance the department's integrity culture and compliance. This includes leading teams that manage internal investigations and support external agency inquiries. The role also involves investigating non-compliance, gathering evidence for legal proceedings, and raising awareness of protected disclosures within the department. Key to this role is balancing the needs of daily operations with the responsibility of maintaining high standards of integrity and compliance. The Director will collaborate across the department to ensure solutions are effective for both immediate business needs and long-term strategic objectives. Additionally, the Director will foster a culture of ethical decision-making, challenge the status quo, and support the department's risk management strategy by leading high-performing teams and continuously strengthening the department's integrity profile. Qualifications and Role Specific Requirements Tertiary qualification would be highly regarded Extensive experience in ethics and integrity with a strong understanding of public sector values.
