WE ARE #anythingbutstandard JOB DESCRIPTION The Director of Sales is responsible for the planning, development, execution, and overall management of sales programs consistent with, and supportive of, the overall business objectives of the Hotel for both core and outer markets.
This is a Global Brand Pre-Opening Hotel - this calls for deadlines; creativity; passion; dedication and hard work, which will be celebrated immensely when we launch the first Standard X in the world.
RESPONSIBILITIES Develop business leads for the Hotel utilizing sales activity targets and action plans for both long- and short-term goals, account prospects and site inspections to qualified potential business streams.
Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology.
Understand the business strategy and position of The Standard X, Melbourne, Fitzroy and be able to effectively articulate the positioning in the marketplace.
Perform monthly reviews on account profiles on room nights production and average rate.
Monitor competitors' rate strategy, account penetration and marketing activities to maintain a competitive edge.
Assume full responsibility of accounts under his/her management to achieve financial and non-financial objectives, including contracting, updating profile and renewing contracts.
Up-sell, cross-sell and promote Hotel facilities & services at every available opportunity in order to maximize sales revenue.
Attend Hotel clients and local community business events to network and maintain high visibility.
Update management and other departments on VIP arrivals, meet and greet accordingly.
Participate and take accountability for the annual budget process, weekly and monthly forecasting.
Attend trade shows, key clients' events, FAM trips and sales trip as planned, submitted and approved.

Minimum 5 years hospitality experience in a Hotel sales capacity Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent Microsoft Office Suite and Hotel CRM and PMS skills Experience in strategic planning, contracting, negotiating and execution.
Excellent communication and rapport building skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders and outsourced providers to ensure that our business objectives are met.
This is an autonomous role which will fit a go-getter that is always trying to take the Hotel to the next level.
