On behalf of Ryan Batchelor, Member for Southern Metropolitan, we are now recruiting for a full-time Electorate Officer – Community Engagement Officer (Grade 2).
About the Role Electorate Officers play an important role in providing services to the Victorian community.
Reporting to Ryan Batchelor, Member for Southern Metropolitan, your work will require a high degree of trust and integrity.
Confidentiality is also a key requirement when interacting with constituents and visitors to the office or in the community.
Based in Ryan Batchelor's electorate office, you will interact daily with constituents, community organisations and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include: Constituent casework Provide impactful materials to enhance community engagement initiatives Electorate communications support Under Section 30 of the Parliamentary Administration Act 2005 , Electorate Officers must not perform any party specific activities.
Party specific activity means any activity for the dominant purpose of directing how a person should vote at an election, by promoting or opposing the election of any candidate at the election; or a registered political party; or an elected member.

The role of an Electorate Officer requires you to demonstrate: Excellent computer skills with experience in MS suite of software and online editing tools, including Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Premiere Pro) and Canva.
Creating content including graphics, photos and videos for the Member's website and social media platforms.
Prepare written responses to constituents on behalf of the Member on a diverse range of matters of varying complexity in a reasonable timeframe.
Achieve positive outcomes for constituents through appropriate advocacy and representation.
Plan, coordinate and oversee the operation of large public events, functions, and meetings.
Organising and developing community engagement initiatives.
Sound written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to undertake research and prepare written materials including reports, submissions, and correspondence.
Commitment and ability to provide the highest level of client service in a challenging environment, providing sound advice and maintaining the strictest confidence on all issues.
Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders from government and peak organisations to local community organisations and constituents.

Salary and Job Type Electorate Officer salaries are set out in the Electorate Officers (Victoria) Single Enterprise Agreement 2021.
Grade 2: $83,469 per annum plus 11.5% employer superannuation (full-time Electorate Officers will receive a pro-rated salary).
This is an ongoing, full-time position.
A six-month probationary period will apply.
Pre-Employment Screening requirements All appointments are subject to receipt of a satisfactory National Name (Police) Check and Working with Children Check.
Successful candidates who do not currently hold a Working with Children Check will be required to obtain a check within 3 months of commencement of employment.
