About The Role The Emergency Management Support Officer works closely with the Coordinator Emergency Management to prepare and deliver the responsibilities of Council in Municipal Emergency Management.
You will undertake a variety of tasks, from the issuing of fire permits, and providing information to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include: Support the efficient and effective management of Council's resources in relation to fire prevention and emergency management.
Issue permits to burn, fire prevention notices and infringement notices.
Act as the assistant Municipal Fire Prevention Officer (MFPO) for the purposes of identifying properties that constitute a fire threat and issue fire prevention notices as a means of reducing those risks.
Provide support and respond to requests for information within the guidelines of the Municipal Emergency Management Plan, Council policy and procedures and Country Fire Authority, Fire Rescue Victoria and Emergency Management Acts.
You will need: Qualifications in emergency management, project management or other relevant field, or demonstrated experience in a similar role and environment.
Completed "Introduction to Emergency Management" and "Introduction to AIIMS" or willingness to undertake.
Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams.
Proven capacity to deliver proactive, coordinated and sustainable emergency management support practices.
Current driver's license is essential.
