The Role: We have a permanent position based at our Ballart site for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Specialised Vehicles team.
This is a unique opportunity where you will: Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency for each reporting function as well as coordinate and communicate between all business functions.
Contribute to the development of structures, policies, and processes that support the delivery of engineering projects in full, on time, and fit for purpose.
Drive continuous design process improvement to aid the end-to-end process delivering products more cost-effectively.
Interpret drawings and specifications, and provide advice on engineering methods and procedures to achieve production requirements.
Liaise with marketing and manufacturing managers regarding aspects of new construction and product design and tendering support.
Lead FEA analysis, risk assessments, and DFMEAs, perform manual hand calculations and publish engineering reports as required.
Support and prepare tender responses, work estimates and quotations, liaise with customer, project, and technical personnel ensuring capture and clarity of requirements.
Review and utilise customer specified standards and relevant regulations to prepare system requirements and ensure effectiveness of deliverables.
Lead system integration activities to ensure design packages support/achieve overall integration requirements.
To be successful in this role you will need: Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (minimum Bachelor Degree).
Substantial experience providing mechanical engineering advice and support including functional specification development, design coordination, safety in design, constructability reviews, testing and commissioning, and the application and development of engineering management systems.
Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of relevant standards such as Australian Engineering and Technical standards.
Understanding of Australian Design Rules (ADRs) is advantageous.
CPEng / RPEQ (or equivalent) certification, or ability to obtain.
Knowledge of hydraulic & electrical circuits.
Nastran, ANSYS or equivalent FEA.
