Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 500 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.
AGIG is leading the way for the Australian renewable gas sector, and is committed to sustainable gas delivery today, and tomorrow. Our low carbon vision targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Enterprise Architect to lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of an architectural framework for AGIG. This role is critical in providing strategic IT guidance, creating roadmaps, and ensuring that business solutions align with AGIG's needs. The ideal candidate will bring a vision for advancing architectural practices and demonstrate strong leadership skills. This role offers flexibility in location, with opportunity available in Adelaide, Melbourne, or Perth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain AGIG's architectural framework, incorporating best practices and catering to both internal and external stakeholders.
Design and execute business solutions to meet AGIG's needs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Partner with key stakeholders to define target architecture, strategies, and roadmaps, including gap analysis based on industry trends.
Support the Head of Architecture & Applications by providing leadership and direction for enterprise technology architecture.
Collaborate with technology leaders to define and advance the technological roadmap.
Present insights on emerging technologies and their business impacts to the leadership team.
Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality architectural solutions.
Lead and participate in governance forums to enforce architectural standards and practices.
Develop enterprise solution artefacts and ensure compliance with architectural standards and requirements.
Forecast needs and provide specific solution guidance using the Portfolio Plan and 5-Year Systems Plan.
Ensure architectural and application solutions align with business, technology, and security architectures.
Continuously improve architectural practices and contribute to the development of strategic frameworks.
About You:
Tertiary qualifications in a technology-related discipline or extensive relevant experience.
Certification in industry-recognized frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
7+ years in architecture roles with consulting experience preferred.
15+ years in technology roles with extensive experience in enterprise-class capabilities such as ERP, CRM, SCADA.
Proven track record in architecture governance, including experience with architecture review boards and framework customization.
Experience delivering applications in complex environments and providing high-quality technology advice.
Proficiency in creating architecture roadmaps, target and transition architectures, and technology blueprints.
Experience with architecture and delivery methods such as TOGAF, SAFe, Agile.
Strong technical knowledge of technology, data, and integration capabilities, with exposure to digital and cloud technologies.
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
Familiarity with energy utility technology platforms and experience in energy utilities or gas sectors preferred.
